MADURA Mentorship Program

About the Program

The MADURA program is an NIH-funded,  paid internship opportunity for undergraduates with a genuine desire to enter careers in aging, Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) or Alzheimer’s Disease Related Dementias (ADRD) clinical services and/or research. Students interested in pursuing graduate work are especially encouraged to apply. Preference is given to upper division students (Junior/Senior level), given the additional academic demands of the program.

Education & Training

MADURA interns receive faculty mentorship, training and supervision during weekly 2-hour whole cohort meetings, plus 8 hrs./week of paid work at a variety of Aging or AD/ADRD approved research placements, including the SMADRC. Students can continue in the MADURA Program, and in their associated research lab placements, for multiple quarters. Minimum commitment of one academic year commitment is required.
