Welcome to the UC San Diego Epilepsy Research Center

The UC San Diego epilepsy research community — spanning basic, translational, and clinical disciplines — is coming together to launch a fresh disease-focused collaborative initiative!
Researchers and clinicians affiliated with the UCSD Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and Rady Children's Hospital, the two nationally recognized Level 4 adult and pediatric epilepsy centers in the region, are working together to break barriers in care and uncover new frontiers in understanding epilepsy.

The research here extend beyond seizures, aiming to address the broader effects that epilepsy imposes on patients’ lives.

With access to cutting-edge diagnostics, advanced medical therapies, and innovative surgical interventions, our Center fosters groundbreaking research across the full spectrum of neurosciences. By bridging the gap between bench and bedside, we are committed to accelerating discovery, advancing treatments, and improving the lives of individuals affected by epilepsy.
