Huntington's Disease Support Group

Our HDSA Center of Excellence sponsors a monthly HD Support Group for individuals who are at-risk for developing HD or diagnosed with HD, as well as their families and other concerned parties. Speakers such as healthcare professionals, legal experts, and housing and placement specialists give talks to the group on resources, coping mechanisms, and other topics.

Schedule

IN-PERSON HD POSITIVE GROUP & CAREGIVERS GROUP SAN DIEGO AREA 
When: The last Tuesday of each month from 5-6:30 pm. Refreshments and socializing are from 5:00 to 5:30 pm. Meeting is from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Dates: January 31st, February exception: moved to March 1st, March 28th, April 25th, May 30th, June 27th, July 25th, August 29th, September 26th, October 31st, November 28th, December 26th

Where: UCSD Medical Center, 9444 Medical Center Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037

From south: Exit I-5 at La Jolla Village Dr. and make a left (right if coming from north) at the stop light. Make a right at the second light: Villa La Jolla Drive. Drive to the end of Villa La Jolla and make a right turn at Gilman Drive, proceed onto Medical Center Drive. Make a left directly after crossing bridge over I-5. Park in spots marked for HD support group.

CALIFORNIA HD PERSON ONLINE VIDEO SUPPORT GROUP
Who: We invite all persons with HD Symptoms to join this support group which will include participants across Southern California. Come join us to connect with other HD persons and discuss triumphs, challenges, ask questions, and get support from others that know what having HD is like! If you live outside California, but receive HD care in CA, you are welcome to attend.
When: 3rd Tuesday of each month from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Dates: January 17th, Feb 21st, March 21st, April 18th, May 16th, June 20th, July 18th, August 15th, September 19th, October 17th, November 21st, December 19th

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CAREGIVERS ONLINE VIDEO SUPPORT GROUP
Who: We invite all persons who are caregivers to individuals with HD to join this support group which will include participants across Southern California. Come join us to connect with other Caregivers and learn from one another's experiences. To register, email sreynolds@hdsa.org
When: Third Sunday of each month from 5:00 to 6:00 pm
Dates: January 15th, February 19th, March 19th, April 16th, May 21st, June 18th, July 16th, August 20th, September 17th, October 15th, November 19th, December 17th
 

CALIFORNIA HD BEREAVEMENT ONLINE VIDEO SUPPORT GROUP
Who: This support group is open to any persons (18 & over), living in CA that are grieving the loss of an HD loved one. Often it is hard for others to understand or relate to the grief and loss our HD families experience and our hope is this group can provide a safe platform to openly discuss all aspects of grief/loss associated with the death of an HD loved one. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal." ~Author Unknown
