Congratulations to graduate student Vani Taluja on receiving UC San Diego’s Interdisciplinary Research Award.

The award recognizes innovative graduate research that integrates ideas and methods across traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Vani’s research combines developmental neuroscience, stem-cell biology, and deeply characterized clinical data to investigate biological mechanisms underlying heterogeneity in autism. Her work uses participant-derived cortical organoids to connect early neurodevelopmental processes with individual developmental and clinical profiles.
